Memorial Day

This year for Memorial's Day we celebrated it a day early with Kyle's family and drove up to Morgan and spent time with grandparents, siblings and cousins. After devouring a delicious meal we all went downstairs and played games. It was so much fun watching Grandpa Tanner play with all the grand kids. You can tell that each grandchild loves Grandpa Tanner so much. They couldn't get enough of him. It's always so much fun getting everyone together, playing games, laughing, and making memories.

Each year for Memorial's Day, my side of the family usually goes on a bike ride down Provo Canyon but this year we were busy with other things so we ended up just staying here. Kyle came up with the idea of going on a bike ride around Heber on his brother-in-laws dirt bike. So around 4 p.m. we went up to my parents house, helped my mom with preparing some food and then we found out that we were out of BBQ sauce (which is a MUST HAVE for my dad) so our bike ride ended up being a trip to the store to get some BBQ sauce for my dad. It was fun though. I love going on the dirt bike with Kyle! The best part about being on a bike, especially during the summer time, is passing house's and getting that awesome aroma of smelling food that's cooking on the grill, smelling a fire in a fire-pit, and smelling the fresh mountain air!

My parents are remodeling their living room; this is their new gorgeous bookcase.

Happy little guy

Watching mom vacuum and get ready to go over to Grandma's for the Memorial Day dinner.

New sun glasses (a must have for our trip to San Diego in a week and a half... YAY!)

So sweet!
Holiday's are always so much fun because we are fortunate enough to be able to spend time with family and friends and eat some good food.

He's a talker!

Within this past week to two weeks, Mason has really started to talk and communicate more and more with us. He is so cute when he talks! The only "word" that he really says is, "whooo." I seriously love it when he starts talking to us. The other day, he started doing this really cute thing where when he would wake up from one of his naps he would get the biggest smile on his face like, "Hey mom look... I took a good long nap. Are you proud of me!?" and then he would talk and talk and talk until he realizes that he's hungry and then starts fussing. He absolutely loves hearing Kyle's voice. Whether he is eating, laying on the ground or swinging in the swing, when he hears Kyle's voice he will stop everything that he is doing and search for him. Once he finds Kyle he has the BIGGEST smile on his face and immediately starts telling daddy about his day. I can't believe that he is 2 months old! He has probably tripled his birth weight. His face is getting so chubby and his little belly is getting so round. Tomorrow is his 2 month check-up and I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the high percentile when it comes to weight and length. This past Sunday, I was in the mothers lounge changing his diaper when another young woman came in to feed her 6 month old. She told me how cute Mason was and then asked how old he was. I told her he was 7 almost 8 weeks... haha her face! She couldn't believe how big he was for being only 8 weeks old. She said, "Holy Cow!! He's huge and really long!" Yup I can see where the length comes from :) and in our house he only eats whole milk, apparently .. none of this skim milk stuff. I wanted to show off my son a little bit and make you jealous of how cute my baby is. So here are a few video's of him talking to us.

1 Year Anniversary!

On Saturday, May 11th, Kyle and I reached our 1 year anniversary mark! I can't believe that it's already been a year! This past year Kyle and I have gone through trials that have made our marriage and love for one another stronger. When Kyle proposed to me over Valentines Day weekend last year, I thought I knew the man I was going to marry. I thought I knew his personality, I thought I knew how hard of a worker he was, and I thought I knew his love for me. But that was only tip of an iceberg! He is such a better man then I ever thought possible. When he proposed, I didn't think that I could love someone that much. But since then, my love for him has grown enormously! Who knew that you can love another human being that much?! I love you so much Kyle. You are a very thoughtful husband, a very hard and dedicated worker, and a great dad! Thanks for all you do!

One year ago we were on our way to Cabo San Lucas:

This year for our anniversary, we left Mason with my mom and snuck out for a few hours alone. We went and saw the movie 42 in theaters. If you haven't seen that yet go see it! It's a very good and inspirational movie!

Happy 1 year anniversary!
Love you Honey.Thank you for making me happy!

Our little buddy

Mason is growing so so so fast! Darn you time! Slow down! He's six weeks old and growing up every single day. His newest thing has been smiling at us... and when I say us I mean Kyle and only Kyle! It's ok, I'm in the background and in my mind I tell myself he's smiling at me :) He loves to follow us around the room. He has been the best sleeper. The past week he has slept 2 full nights, which is 5-6 hours. I love it! He will go to bed around 10 and wake up around 7-8 only waking up 1 time to eat! I hope that this isn't a phase that he's going through where it will end soon, cause it is awesome! He L-O-V-E-S bath time! Overall this kid loves life and has no worries... I'm super jealous about the no worries part!

Kyle and I have gotten into a little routine every night where Mason knows what to expect, like bathing and getting fed. We have also gotten into a few T.V. shows lately and I know this makes us sound super old but that is what we look forward to! On Tuesday we watch Splash, and I just laugh because I swear how can so many people be that uncoordinated and do a face plant or a belly flop when it comes to a simple dive, no flips or anything? Now I'm not saying that I can do a perfect dive, but I'm pretty sure I can dive and not bruise my eyes because I forgot to close them, or get a concussion because I landed weird. Anyway it's an amusing show, so that's Tuesday. Wednesday is by far our favorite!! Modern Family is on at 8! Ha-ha we love Modern Family! It's so dang funny. If you haven't seen Modern Family I would highly recommend to go on Hulu and watch as many episodes as one day will allow! After Modern Family there is this new show on, it's called "How to live with your parents for the rest of your life." We watch that every now and then only because it's on right before our favorite show of the night: "Nashville!" We love watching that show! Our next favorite day is on Sunday and that's because "America's Funniest Home Video's" is on.... I'm kidding! I love that show and I could laugh at it all day, but when it comes to watching animals do dumb things that's where Kyle and I differ... Our favorite show on Sunday is "Revenge" I have a harder time with this show because I didn't start watching it from the beginning, so I'm constantly asking Kyle, "Wait who is that?" or "What's going on?" So yes call us old people but that is our highlights of the week... TV shows! Yay for free entertainment! Ok back to the most important thing... Our son! Enjoy!
