4 Months Old

Mason is 4 months old! I can't believe it. It seriously seems like yesterday we were rushing to the hospital because I was having contractions. In my eyes, Mason is still 7 lbs 8 ounces, until I hold him and then I feel like I'm holding a sack of potatoes! I can't believe how much he has grown! He honestly is huge... in a good way right? His 4 months stats are:

Weight: 16 Lbs. 12 ounces (72nd %)
Height: 26.5 inches (92nd %)Head Circumference: 17 inches (87th %)

It shocks me when I see him in his car-seat... and he's outgrowing it! When did he get this big?! I am loving watching him grow and learn new things every day. It melts my heart when he looks around the room to find me and when we make eye contact, he gets the biggest grin on his sweet little face. I can tell that he is going to be a mama's boy because no matter who he is with or what he is doing, he always has to know where mom is. He is a smart little bugger. He knows what to do to get our attention. Recently he does this fake cough thing... and he'll fake cry until we pick him up. He knows that he has mom and dad wrapped around his little finger! But Kyle and I love it! We don't go one minute without thinking about him. Here are a few things that he loves doing on a daily basis:

He loves playing with Daddy!!

He loves having his blankets up by his face!!

He loves sucking on anything! Especially his fingers!

He met President and Sister Uchtdorf (wasn't too happy at the moment!)

LOVES being outside

 Loves to boat

He hates laying down... So we have found a few chairs where he can sit up in them!

Again, I can't believe that he's already 4 months old! Time sure does fly! I am so glad that I have captured little moments in his life thus far, it is so fun going back and seeing how little he was and seeing his growth! Mom and Dad love you Mace!!

Summer time = fun time

We love summer time! It is, by far, the best season! We have a blast so far this summer and seeing Mason experience a lot of new things for the first time in his life. Most of the time, he has no idea what's even going on, but as a mother I have to capture everything:

First time touching a leaf :) definitely important to capture!!
Being in Utah, most of the days are gorgeous so we are able to do a lot of things outdoors, which Mason loves! Kyle and I are going to miss Utah.......... many of you don't know our upcoming plans, so I'll fill you in.

Kyle served his mission in Taiwan 8 years ago and since then, he has been looking for a job where he can use his Mandarin. About a month ago, he was looking on KSL and saw an ad for a teaching position in China. He decided to apply, just for the heck of it. Well that has changed our lives. We are now moving over to Shenzhen China and we will both be teaching English for one year. We are so excited, but nervous to travel on an airplane for 15 hours with a 3 month old! (Oh boy!!) Not to mention that I will be completely lost because I do not speak one word of Mandarin..... Hola? Crap! I'm in trouble! Luckily I will be with Kyle! We are scheduled to leave on July 31st! WHOA!! that's like practically tomorrow! But plans kinda got delayed when we found out that Mason had to get a passport (I guess the birth certificate wasn't enough) So now we are waiting for his passport to arrive and then we are outta here! I don't know about you guys, but when I think of China, I think of 3rd world... Ok maybe not that bad but still! But we have been researching Shenzhen and it surprisingly looks almost identical to Salt Lake. We were skyping a couple that is already over there (originally from Provo, so that made me feel better) and they were taking us around their apartment so we could kinda get an idea of what the apartments look like. They were really modern and looked a lot like the apartments in the U.S.... until we got to the bathroom. The couple then goes on to tell us that they were lucky because they actually have a toilet instead of a squatter. OK WHOA stop there! There is a chance that we would have a squatter?? OK Google help me out here: Squatter = squatting to go to the bathroom in a hole! WHAT?!? I didn't even know that was an option! Ok umm no! Definitely requesting an apartment that has a toilet, never had to do that before! Well other than that everything else was just the way it is here in the U.S. We are so excited to be able to experience this great opportunity. Mason's first steps are going to be on China's soil?? ok his first steps will be on China's asphalt! We will keep you posted on when exactly we are going to be leaving, but for now please enjoy our summer adventures we've had so far this year!

First time boating! Loved it!

We went to the Car show here in Heber and he took a nap under my dad's truck

3 Months?! WHAAAT?

Mason is almost 3 months old (on the 22nd of June he'll be 3 months) I cannot believe how big he is getting! Ever single day my love for him grows more and more. It's unreal how much love you can have for another person! Here is an example of how much I love him. The other day when he woke up from a nap I noticed on his arm a little bug bite (not sure if it's a spider or not, but almost positive it is). If you know me, I really really hate spiders, like even looking at the word makes my skin crawl. I don't care if the spider is as small as an ant, I'm scared of them. Well once I saw that little bite on his sweet arm I went into "Mom-Mode" and went on the hunt to squish that little bug! Now that's true love :) All I can say is that I am obsessed with this little guy! Enjoy how cute my son is!

Blessing Day

almost got his thumb!!

Memorial Day

This year for Memorial's Day we celebrated it a day early with Kyle's family and drove up to Morgan and spent time with grandparents, siblings and cousins. After devouring a delicious meal we all went downstairs and played games. It was so much fun watching Grandpa Tanner play with all the grand kids. You can tell that each grandchild loves Grandpa Tanner so much. They couldn't get enough of him. It's always so much fun getting everyone together, playing games, laughing, and making memories.

Each year for Memorial's Day, my side of the family usually goes on a bike ride down Provo Canyon but this year we were busy with other things so we ended up just staying here. Kyle came up with the idea of going on a bike ride around Heber on his brother-in-laws dirt bike. So around 4 p.m. we went up to my parents house, helped my mom with preparing some food and then we found out that we were out of BBQ sauce (which is a MUST HAVE for my dad) so our bike ride ended up being a trip to the store to get some BBQ sauce for my dad. It was fun though. I love going on the dirt bike with Kyle! The best part about being on a bike, especially during the summer time, is passing house's and getting that awesome aroma of smelling food that's cooking on the grill, smelling a fire in a fire-pit, and smelling the fresh mountain air!

My parents are remodeling their living room; this is their new gorgeous bookcase.

Happy little guy

Watching mom vacuum and get ready to go over to Grandma's for the Memorial Day dinner.

New sun glasses (a must have for our trip to San Diego in a week and a half... YAY!)

So sweet!
Holiday's are always so much fun because we are fortunate enough to be able to spend time with family and friends and eat some good food.
